Heidelberg Bootleg Update

For those of you who are eagerly awaiting the release of the Heidelberg bootleg recording taken from the band's performance at this year's Prog the Castle festival, here's a bit more information on the release. But first, a peek at the artwork, by none other than the band's longtime artwork collaborator Tim Neill.

The album will be available for sale from the 10th of November right here at anubismusic.com in digital download format only. We do realise that many of you would like to see a CD release, but as the band are concentrating on the recording of their fourth studio album, budget restrictions will not allow a CD release of this album for the foreseeable future.

We'll post the purchase/download links here as soon as the album is available.....

Is it just me or does the artwork feature the incorrect date? It appears to refer to 2016 instead of 2015...?

Ah, it is not just you Anon. Wrong date. Nice to have as download. I really enjoyed the Prog The Castle festival at Heidelberg. And also Anubis of course.

Well spotted guys! Tim's already fixed the date for the released version but we didn't have the new file to put up today.

A CD would have been lovely, but I'll be happy just to have the download of such a wonderful and memorable night :)

We totally understand your disappointment Gary, we would have loved to have been able to release this on CD. Unfortunately in order to have a run of pressed CD's we have to press a minimum of at least 500 discs which may not seem like a lot, but it does cost us quite a bit, and it can be quite a while before we see that investment returned to us from international distributers etc. etc. In the end we decided to go with a download only release as we need to keep covering the costs of recording and releasing the next studio album. We figured that a CD release of the bootleg could possibly delay proceedings with the new studio album and that most people would prefer to see that project finished and released as soon as possible. Also, given that it is a true "bootleg" recording ie. not multitracked and mixed to our usual standard, we thought that our fans would prefer to see this release come out in a low cost format. Anyway, we hope you do enjoy the bootleg if you decide to buy it. Cheers Dean
